Since I already did a long biking tour before, I had most of the equipment ready. So fortunately I already kind of knew, which few things are important and worth it to have in a good quality and which i would hardly use once. So here is my complete bike touring packing list for man with all equipment, gear and clothes.
Touring bike, biking equipment and biking gear
A good touring bike and its equipment are probably the most important elements, since you will spend a lot of time on it. I have my bike – Trek 920 since 2018 and I feel very comfortable on it. Since the beginning I ride it with Schwalbe marathon tyres. They let you ride very smoothly on paved roads, give you a very good protection against puncture and you can also go a little bit off road. Further, I kept the original saddle too (Bontrager evoke 1.5). Even though I already heard different opinions, I always felt comfortable on it, also by doing 100+ km distances.
Biking gear
My biking gear : Bike – Trek 920 disc, helmet, back panniers – Ortlieb Backroller plus (2 x 20 liters), front panniers – Ortlieb Frontroller plus (2 x 12.5 liters), handlebar bag Ortlieb ultimate 6 s plus, foldable lock (abus bordo), cycling computer (simple one), lights, replacement tubes (2), repair kit for tubes, multi tool, allen key set, tyre levers, replacement spokes (4-5 each), chain lubes (1 for general conditions, one for dry conditions), chain lock (2), chain whip, cassette tool, cable ties, replacement brake pads (2), valve adapter, swiss tool, replacement brake and shift cables. The only thing from my biking gear, which I forgot, are my lights. Normally I use lights, which are rechargeable by USB.

Camping equipment
To make the first bike touring experience more light and enjoyable for Anchica, I carry most of our common camping equipment with me on my bike. If you are curious what Anna took, you can find it here.
Tent and sleeping mattress
On my last trip I already had my super truper camping tent – MSR hubba hubba NX – two person tent. It is easy to build, very light (around 1.5 kg) and has two entries, with space to store luggage on each side. It is very comfortable for one person, but since we are two now, we’d go for a slightly bigger one if we had to buy one. Both of us sleep on a Exped synmat UL LW camping mattress. They are a very good compromise between comfort and weight (ca 560 g).
Other camping equipment
From camping equipment I also took sleeping bag (ca 6° C comfort) – Exped lite 300, silk sleeping bag, air pillow, gas cooking stove – MSR rocket stove, multi fuel stove – Primus Omnifuel, set of pots (1 big, 1 small), aluminium cup, water filter – Katadyn BeFree, cutlery, cutting board, hammock, tarp/flysheet, thin rope
